Crowds of seventh graders swarm the front entrance of the middle school. Dressed in their new school clothes, they anxiously await doors opening so they can see what they’ve been waiting all this time for middle school.
I stand with my friends and talk excitedly until the door finally opens. Inside the school the hallways are bustling and all around me there is a buzz of voices. I head into Mr. Douglas Bishop’s class and take the first stool by the door. For what seems like an eternity we hang out in Mr. Bishop’s class and he talks about rules and expectations, then finally it is time to go to English class with Mrs. Mathers. With agenda book in hand, I confidently walk down the long halls feeling like a middle schooler at last.
With only twenty minute classes today, they go by very quickly and soon it is time for lunch. Today we get a barbecue, and the food smells wonderful, but I brought cold lunch. I sit down on the cool grass in the shade next to some friends. we munch down our tasty meals quickly and socialize for the the rest of the time.
The next two classes fly by and we go back to our advisor until we are dismissed to the media center (just a fancy word for library). At the media center they explain to us what we shouldn’t be doing in school, like call other people bad names. They also show us a video of some kids and some situations they got in when they were called bad names of bullied.
It is time to go and I have had a awesome day, middle school is so much different than anything else I’ve ever experienced. I have a feeling I’ll like it here a lot. The buses are called and everyone explodes out of the school like a herd of elephants, ready to tell their family and friends about the first day of middle school.
