PORTLAND (AP) – About 100 women police officers will be in Portland this week as the city hosts a national conference for women in law enforcement.

The National Center for Women & Policing is holding its 14th annual conference on leadership and workplace issues for women in law enforcement on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The conference is being hosted by the Portland Police Department and Maine State Police.

During the conference, lifetime achievement awards will be presented to Maine Public Safety Commissioner Anne Jordan; University of Southern Maine Police Chief Lisa Beecher; and South Portland Deputy Chief Amy Berry.
