I thank the Sun Journal for the recent coverage of teacher Michelle Gagne’s winning the $25,000 Milken Family Foundation Award. While the article was extremely positive, as it should have been, it did not give the whole picture of the kind of gifted person she is.

I have been working with her for nearly seven years, and have found her to not only be good with children, but with co-workers as well. She never misses an opportunity to compliment a colleague, and is very appreciative of everyone’s efforts, no matter how small.

She is also an infectious leader – she knows how to motivate and inspire others to do what is best.

I could go on, but I won’t, because it is clear how deserving she is of the award.
