SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) – The state’s health department has lifted a boil water advisory for all but one building at the University of Rhode Island’s main campus in South Kingston.

For more than a week, students and staffers at the college had been urged to boil drinking and cooking water because tests came back positive for fecal coliform bacteria contamination.

The problem was tracked to the school’s Biological Life Sciences building, where the boil water advisory remained in effect Monday.

The Rhode Island Department of Health says it is continuing daily tests of water in that building, which has been isolated from the rest of the campus’ water supply.
