FARMINGTON – Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will speak on the importance of voting and the youth vote at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in Lincoln Auditorium in Roberts Learning Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. The program is open and free to the public but there is limited seating.
Dean was a candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination for president in 2004. He served as governor of Vermont and as chairman of the National Governor’s Association. He is also founder of Democracy for America, which bills itself as “our nation’s largest progressive political action community.” He is also a medical doctor.
The event is sponsored by the University of Maine at Farmington College Democrats, a student organization that focuses on promoting the cause of Democrats on campus, educating the public about the Democratic Party and advocating for election of Democratic candidates.
