I love to dance. Dance is my favorite sport in the world. I love it because it can be fun and upbeat or slow and sophisticated. I believe that dance is good because it is healthy for your body, it can prevent osteoporosis, and in three hours you can burn up to 2,400 calories. So I think that by dancing I am keeping my body healthy and having a great time doing it. And it doesn’t have to be competitive, it can just be as simple as turning on some music and rocking out. I can’t wait until the night I go to my dance lessons; I have been taking lessons for eight years now.

I couldn’t be happier with the sport I’ve chosen. I love it because, well, for one thing I’m naturally good at it. I have also been dancing since I was five and it has become a big part of my life. If I had to give up dance, I would not want to and I would probably want to lock myself in my room for the rest of my life.

My dance teacher, Cecile Phinney, is so cool, too; she is almost like an aunt to me. I really love going to dance and getting to learn more steps, especially from her and her assistant teacher. My teacher works with us on tricks we are working on or steps we just don’t get.

I have taken four different types of dance. I have taken Jazz, an upbeat and very funky type of dance. Acro, which is a lot like gymnastics with more dance in it. Ballet, which is very graceful and smooth dance. And then there is tap, which is my least favorite; it is a fast dance with shoes that make a quick tap with each step.

So as you can see, I love dance and it is very important to me. I don’t think there is a better sport in the world. But that’s just my opinion
