The election is less than a month away, and the presidential candidates have completed the last debate. Both candidates took off the gloves, addressing some of the negative advertising and remarks that have been made by both sides, in campaign ads and at McCain’s rallies. The candidates each addressed “Joe The Plumber,” who became the face of the average citizen, which allowed both candidates to directly address the problems facing the American people, most importantly, the economy.

Overall, McCain needed a decisive win to decrease the 14 point gap in the polls. He made several attacks against Obama, but his adversary was able to deflect the attacks. Overall, both candidates held their own, but McCain did not manage to instill doubt in the American people over an Obama administration and lack of experience, which is what he needed to do to gain a decisive lead.
