FARMINGTON – Volunteers are needed Thursday and Friday to help move the Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services from Pleasant Street to Main Street.
The SAVES office will move to the second floor of the Holman House at 227 Main St. over the next two days, said Judy Rawlings, executive director.
“It’s a good move. We’ll be glad to be on Main Street and near the university,” she said.
Holman House will provide more space with larger rooms, she said.
During a winter retreat last year, board members were looking at what they could do to be more efficient in the future and use their funds wisely, she said. One board member who is also a member of Old South Congregational Church, owner of the Holman House, suggested the organization inquire into renting space there.
A staff person will be available at the Pleasant Street location during the move, with the office opening on Main Street on Monday.
Anyone willing to help with the move should call the SAVES office at 778-9522.
