WATERVILLE – Sophomore Jordan Pellerin and senior forward Stephanie Whitten scored a goal each to lift Waterville to a 2-0 vicotry over Mt. Blue in the Eastern Class A semifinals.

The Panthers (16-0) struck with a pair of quick goals midway through the second half. Paige Gardiner assisted Pellerin’s ice breaker 16:08 into the frame.

Goalie Em Deane made 13 saves for the Cougars (11-4-1), while Taylor Hart only needed to turn away one to earn the shutout for Waterville.

NYA 1, Mt. Abram 0

SALEM – Senior striker Courtney Dumont scored the only goal of the contest to lift North Yarmouth Academy to a 1-0 triumph over Mt. Abram in the Western Class C semifinals in girls’ soccer action Saturday.

Dumont’s tally was thre result of a scramble in front of the net with 13:54 remaining in the second half.

Goalie Kenni Norton made eight saves for the Roadrunners (15-2), while Abigail Moss turned away four shots for the Panthers (8-9-6) in the winning effort.

Rangeley 3, Buckfield 2

BUCKFIELD – Allie Hammond scored two late goals to force overtime and allowed Rangeley to earn the 3-2 victory over Buckfield in the penalty kick round in semifinals of the Western Class D girls’ soccer playoffs.

Hammond cut the Laker’s (10-3-2) deficit to 2-1 with five minutes remaining in regulation and evened up the score at 2-2 with one minute remaining to force overtime. Sam Olivieri, Hammond and Emma Christensen each scored goals during the penalty kick round.
