AUBURN – Common Ties Mental Health Services of Lewiston will keynote its current employment and housing efforts at its annual meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Androscoggin Community Room at the Auburn Public Library.
For more than 20 years the health and human services agency has assisted residents who are experiencing a mental health illness to locate and to retain affordable housing.

Common Ties will honor Joseph Dunne and Sullivan Properties with its Kelsey Award for Quality and Excellence.

Richard Balser, director of vocational services at the Maine Medical Center, will present an overview on promoting and encouraging people to obtain jobs in a competitive work environment that is consistent with their strengths, abilities and interests.
Common Ties and Tri-County Mental Health Services are partnering with MMC and the Department of Health and Human Services in a statewide project that recognizes employment as a key piece to rehabilitation and recovery and one of the best ways for a person to be involved in their community.
