BUCKFIELD – Selectmen set the 2009 property tax rate at $19.20 per $1,000 of value when they met Monday morning.

The rate is 10 cents higher than this year.

Selectmen also appointed Rhonda Dow to the SAD 39 board until the June town meeting. Dow replaces Stacy Raymond, who recently resigned for personal reasons.

Voters face three ballots in Tuesday’s election. In addition to choosing national, state and county officials, they will be voting on a municipal ballot for a selectman to replace the deceased Oscar Gammon. Voters will have four choices for the one vacancy: Roger Bennett, John Lowell, Alan Young and Pearly Lovejoy.

The school ballot asks the SAD 39 district voters to approve regionalization with SADs 21, 43 and the town of Hanover.
