The Sun Journal incorrectly reported in Thursday’s edition that Auburn Mayor John Jenkins was the first African-American elected to the Maine Legislature. He was the first elected to the Maine Senate. Gerald Talbot of Portland was the first elected to the House, in the 1970s, and served three terms.

Numbers off

WILTON – An election results chart that appeared in Thursday’s Franklin edition on B2 contained incorrect numbers in the House District 90 race. Tom Saviello drew 184 votes in Avon. Total votes district-wide were 3,611. The information was incorrectly reported by the Sun Journal.
