MADRID TOWNSHIP – Three homes in Madrid Township and Rangeley, all owned by one man, were searched and the owner and two others charged Friday morning after police and drug agents seized drugs, weapons and money, police say.

Jeffrey C. Wing, 51, of 893 Reeds Mills Road was charged with aggravated trafficking in cocaine and marijuana. His son, 32-year-old Jason G. Wing, who lives in his father’s camp across the road, was arrested on the same charges.

A third man, Brian Clarke, 28, of 139 Pleasant St. in Rangeley was summoned to court on a charge of cultivating marijuana after police searched that home, which is also owned by Jeffrey Wing.

About 7:30 a.m., agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency along with Maine State Police troopers, deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, an officer from the Rangeley Police Department and an agent from the U.S. Border Patrol in Rangeley, served search warrants on the Reeds Mills Road properties.

Police who searched the residence at 893 Reeds Mills Road found more than two ounces of cocaine along with paraphernalia, according to the statement.

Police said a digital scale with cocaine residue and small plastic bags for packaging were found during the search as were handwritten drug ledgers.

More than a pound of dried and packaged marijuana was found inside the house, police said. They also said a large plastic tub containing partially stripped, recently harvested marijuana plants was found inside the garage in a room equipped with an 8-foot table littered with marijuana plant clippings.

More than $4,800 in cash and 38 firearms were seized, according to the statement.

Police said the seized cocaine had an estimated street value of more than $4,000 when sold at $250 for 3.5 grams. The estimated street value of the processed marijuana was more than $2,000.

In the camp, police said they found two grams of cocaine and paraphernalia. A 12-gauge shotgun was found within reach of the cocaine processing area with two rounds on the table ready for immediate loading into the weapon, according to the statement.

Approximately two to three ounces of dried and packaged marijuana, intended for distribution, were also seized.

Police said Jason Wing turned himself in to state police at the Franklin County Jail and was arrested. The street value of the cocaine found at the camp was approximately $200 and the marijuana $350 to $500, police said.

The third home in Rangeley was searched as part of the planned raid and police said marijuana plants were found inside.

They also seized a loaded .44-caliber Magnum revolver and 12-gauge shotgun near the marijuana growing operation. Clarke, who was living at the home, was issued a criminal summons for cultivating.

Police said once fully mature, the marijuana plants had a potential yield of useable marijuana ranging from a quarter to a half pound, which could have been sold locally for $2,000 to $3,000 per pound.
