LEWISTON – The L&A Veterans Council will hold its Veterans’ Day Musical Tribute at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Lewiston Armory, Central Avenue. The public is invited to attend.
Special guest is acoustic guitarist Denny Breau, the youngest inductee in the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame when he was honored in 2004.
Other events on Tuesday include:
7 to 9 a.m.: Capt. Gus LeBlanc and Lewiston High School military cadets will host the second annual free breakfast for veterans and their families, served by culinary arts students in the high school cafeteria.
9:30 a.m.: Color guard will list up for pass and review at the armory.
10 a.m.: Musical tribute featuring Denny Breau, Just Us entertainers and the Edward Little and Lewiston high school bands.
12:30 p.m.: Luncheon at American Legion Alden M. Gayton Post 31, followed by a skit by the Silvertones.
1:30 p.m.: Unveiling of the 16th Memorial Veterans Stone at the Veterans Memorial Park, Lewiston.
6:30 p.m.: Fifth annual Veterans Day Prayer Service at Holy Family Church.
New Auburn American Legion to hold open house
AUBURN – American Legion Post 153 in New Auburn will hold an open house and Firefighter Chili Cook-off starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The event is expected to last until 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
