MEXICO – The following incidents were handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.
Arrests
Derek Dearborn, 20, Rumford, and Billie-Jo Boudreau, 40, Rumford, were arrested on Nov. 1 following a two-car collision at the entrance to Wal-Mart at 8:20 a.m. Dearborn was driving a 1999 Nissan sedan owned by Bilodeau when he struck a 2008 Hyundai sedan driven by David Dow, 23, of Pine Street, Rumford.
Dow drove himself to Rumford Hospital where he was treated and released. A passenger, Scott Dow, 24, of Pine Street, Rumford, was transported to Rumford Hospital by Med-Care Ambulance Service where he was treated and released.
Dearborn was arrested on charges of operating under the influence, operating after suspension, failure to yield at a red light, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to notify by the quickest means possible after he fled on foot to the rear of Oxford Federal Credit Union.
Bilodeau was on charges of permitting unlawful use of her vehicle and two counts of violation of conditions of release.
Both Dearborn and Bilodeau were transported to Oxford County jail where they were later released.
Bilodeau’s Nissan sustained $4,000 damage. Dow’s Hyundai sustained $3,500 damage.
Burglary
Someone broke into Dick’s Restaurant on Main Street between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. Nov. 8, causing $300 damage to the door. That person also stole $4,100 from the register and a bank bag inside the restaurant. Although police have a suspect, Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said the department would like anyone who may have seen anything unusual to call 364-5686.
