WILTON – Shannon Smith expects buyers will look for conservative gifts this year like socks and mittens or food for Thanksgiving at Saturday’s 15th annual Mt. Blue High School Craft and Bake Sale at the Nichols Expo on Weld Road.
There will still be a variety of unique, handmade items on the 150 tables spread throughout the building. Crafters from last year are returning and slots left open by those retiring from crafting have been filled, said Smith, who helps organize the event.
The craft sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and benefits the school’s junior and senior classes’ Project Graduation.
Members of the classes help crafters set up their tables Saturday morning as well as run tables of their own offering pies, bread, candy, jam and jelly, she said.
Demonstrations, entertainment and fingerprinting are also part of the plan. Jean Bowland will demonstrate mask making from 10 to 11 a.m., and Laurel Dube will provide an opportunity for people to “paint and take” an item from noon to 1 p.m. Sue Essman will provide a demonstration from 9 to 10 a.m., and Becky Tyler from 11 a.m. to noon.
The Mt. Blue Fiddlers will perform from 9 to 10 a.m., and the Mt. Blue Syncopations from 10 to 11 a.m.
Raffles also will be held.
There is no admission fee.
