LEWISTON – SeniorsPlus, the local area agency on aging for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties, will offer free Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage counseling throughout November and December.

The SeniorsPlus mobile office will stop at multiple locations, assisting individuals who want to review their Medicare drug coverage plan for 2009. Most Medicare beneficiaries can only switch Med D plans between Nov. 15 and Dec. 31.

“Medicare D plans change each year and the plan that worked last year may not be the best choice for the new year. Medicare clients need to check to see which plan covers their medications and meets their financial needs,” said Connie Jones, director of community services at SeniorsPlus.

One-one-one counseling will be offered at the following locations: Dec.1 and 22 at the Rumford Town Library; Dec. 8 and 30 at the Norway Town Hall; and Dec. 15 at the Rangeley Church of the Good Shepherd.
