LEWISTON – Robert and Joan Colvin of Lewiston recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Davinci’s Restaurant in Lewiston, where friends and family gathered. Party hosts were daughter and son-in-law, Jen and Paul Rubin.

The cake was decorated with their wedding picture made of frosting. A centerpiece of flowers, which was made up of the same flowers used in Mrs. Colvin’s bouquet at her wedding, decorated the honor table.

Chuck Colvin was toastmaster and the three granddaughters of the couple took care of the guest book.

Mr. Colvin and the former Joan Samson were married Aug. 16, 1958, at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. Their children are Chuck Colvin of Oregon, Keith Colvin and wife, Margie, of Florida, and Jen Rubin and husband, Paul, of Lewiston. Their granddaughters are Chelsea Colvin of Oregon, Elizabeth and Michael Colvin of Florida, and Jared and Jordyn Rubin of Lewiston.

Mrs. Colvin is a graduate of Edward Little High School and retired from the Lewiston School Department in 2001.

Mr. Colvin served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and retired in 1974. He is also retired from the Maine Department of Human Services in Lewiston in 1996, working there 21 years.

Original wedding attendants present were Madeleine Dionne, cousin, maid of honor, Kathy Dostie, cousin, flower girl, Edward Samson, brother, usher, and Irene Thibault, bridesmaid.

Attending from out of town in addition to their two sons were Sandi Chainao of North Creek, N.Y., sister of Mr. Colvin.
