DOVER, N.H. (AP) – An early morning house fire has left one person dead in Dover, N.H.

Authorities say the fire probably started about an hour before a passer-by noticed it early Sunday morning. Crews spent about five hours at the scene.

The medical examiner is working to identify the body of the home’s only resident. Dover fire investigators say improperly discarded cigarettes caused the fire, which started in a first floor bedroom. The home had no working smoke detectors.

Meanwhile, in Hollis, authorities are investigating another fatal fire that killed one person Saturday night. That fire, also at a home, likely started in the garage.
