LEWISTON – A Lewiston man was stabbed downtown early Tuesday for the second time in less than a month.
Police said Zachary Duprey, 21, of 123 Pine St. was stabbed twice in the back at Del’s Bar & Grille on Walnut Street minutes after midnight.
When officers arrived, they found Duprey sitting on a bar stool with two knife wounds. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where he was treated and released.
In the minutes after the attack, police fanned out across the downtown area in search of a suspect. None were immediately found, but later in the day police were working on leads and the investigation continued.
On Oct. 30, Duprey was stabbed twice in the thigh during a fight at Pine and Horton streets. In that knifing, police said Duprey was fighting with one man when a third man jumped in and stabbed him.
Jacob Labbe, 22, was later arrested on a charge of elevated aggravated assault.
It was not clear what led to the stabbing Tuesday morning at Del’s.
