NORWAY – The Western Maine Art Group annual holiday party will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the art group’s gallery, the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center, 480 Main St. The featured exhibit will be locally created artwork, all on sale for $250 or less.

“Wonderful art can be affordable. We hope this holiday sale and exhibit will help people envision what beautiful and meaningful holiday gifts this local artwork can make,” said WMAG Co-President Aranka Matolcsy.

Party-goers will automatically be entered into a drawing for an original piece of art with the purchase of entry tickets and will also have chances to bid on local goods and services in a silent auction fundraiser. Holiday fare, desserts, wine and spirits, will be served and included in the ticket price. Tickets are $15 a person and $25 a couple.

The party is the WMAG’s major annual fundraiser. This year, proceeds will go toward keeping the MAC open to host art classes all winter long for the first time in many years.

The MAC will be open during the following hours throughout the holiday shopping season: Tuesday, 1 to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
