PARIS – Efforts to collect donations for the Toys for Tots program will be held Saturday in conjunction with the annual Oxford Hills Christmas Parade.

The parade is sponsored by the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce and Turn Key Homes of Maine in Oxford and begins at 3 p.m. from Moore Park on Route 26 in Paris.

Ena Derenburger, sales manager for Turn Key Homes, said she contacted chamber Executive Director Steve Wallace about a month ago to look into starting a toy collection in the area. Wallace pointed her to the Maine Toys for Tots program, sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves in Topsham.

The toy drive will be held at noon Saturday at the Four Seasons Function Center on Route 26. Another drop-off point will be at the Moore Park festivities from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Turn Key Homes will feature a float in the parade containing the toys that have been donated.

“Who knows, maybe some folks will put some on the float,” Derenburger said.

In addition, Derenburger said Turn Key Homes will be collecting toys at its offices through the first week in December. The business has also accepted monetary donations totaling $1,600.
