ELIOT (AP) – A 25-year-old Eliot man faces charges after police say they found numerous weapons and more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition inside his apartment located above a day-care center.

Eliot Police Chief Theodor Short said David Widi was charged Friday following a joint investigation involving the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Eliot police.

Short said a search of Widi’s apartment uncovered an indoor marijuana-growing operation, seven weapons, ammunition and a stolen motorcycle.

Police say Widi’s apartment on Route 236 is located upstairs from Little Dino Care.
