Brown bag lunch

Grange program

AUBURN – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Wales Grange for a 6:30 p.m. supper. The meeting will start at 7:30 and will feature a Christmas program presented by the lecturer.

Seniors to meet

AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at the Hasty Community on Wednesday, Dec. 3, with President Pat Records presiding. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. and the regular meeting will begin at 11 a.m.

Members should bring a bag lunch, and bingo will be played after the meeting. There will be a raffle table.

On Nov. 19 members had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner prepared and served by the students of the Green Ladle Restaurant.

Meal tickets will be on sale Wednesday for the Christmas dinner at Martindale on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Cost is $6. The program will be a musical performance by Mary Murphy.

Greek pastries

LEWISTON – The Ladies’ Society of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is offering Greek pastries for sale during the Christmas season.

The pastries are made with fresh ingredients, keep for a long time, and can be frozen. Available this year are baklava, finikia, kourabiedes, nut rolls, tiropites, spanakopites and a gift box of assorted pastries.

Voiture party

AUBURN – Voiture 354 will hold its annual Christmas party at noon Sunday, Dec. 7, at Post 31 on Washington Street. Members should bring a $10 gift. The menu will be turkey, pork and all the fixings. RSVP Ashley Rowe at 345-9510.

Toy drive

LEWISTON – The Toy Library’s annual toy drive is under way. Those wishing may drop off a new unwrapped toy and get free admission for the day. All toys will be donated to kids in Androscoggin County.

Donations can be dropped off at the Toy Library, 134 College St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information on the toy drive, contact the Toy Library at 782-1112 or e-mail [email protected].

Lake program

AUBURN – The Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program holiday party will be held from 3 p.m. until lights out on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Brackett Environmental Center, 24 Maple Hill Road.
