BETHEL – Bethel shoppers will be treated to an array of talent during a holiday shop-around event from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, courtesy of the Bethel Performing Arts Project and the Bethel Area Chamber’s Downtown Task Force.
Most Main Street businesses will remain open until 8 p.m. and will showcase local performing artists from actors to musicians every half-hour until 8 p.m. when a community dance will be held until 10 p.m.
The schedule of performers for the moving block party follows:
4 p.m.: Jade’s Salon: Jewel Clark, solo, musician; Sassafras Market: Wendy Green, solo musician; True North Adventureware: Ross Timberlake, solo musician
4:30 p.m.: Café DiCocoa: Cooking for Kids and skits by the Bethel Community Players
5 p.m.: Linda Clifford Scottish and Irish Merchant: Connie St. Pierre, Celtic harp
5:30 p.m.: Sudbury Inn: The Western Mountains Senior Players read “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” by Dylan Thomas
6 p.m.: The Victoria Inn: Lynn Arizzi, pianist, and a Christmas carol singalong
6:30 p.m.: S.S. Milton Restaurant: Kathleen Devoors and Meredith Mink, flautists
7 p.m.: Brooks Bros.: Jewel Clark, Donny Katlin and Ross Timberlake with a musical potpourri
7:30 p.m.: DiCocoa’s Marketplace: Amy and Wendy Green, musicians
8 p.m.: Funky Red Barn: Community Dance with the Ten Point Stump and friends, live band.
Santa will visit five businesses beginning at Maine Line Products at 4 p.m; Mouse and Bean will feature pianist Jim MacLaughlin between 4 and 6:30 p.m; Kai Clothing will hold a fashion show; Spirit Wings will feature an acoustic quartet; and Philbrook Place will have musical entertainment.
