AUBURN – Anita B. Paradis, 79, formerly of 64 Central Avenue, Lewiston, died Thursday, Dec. 4, at Schooner Estates in Auburn, where she had resided for the past three years.
Born in Lewiston on Jan. 12, 1929, she was the daughter of Arthur and Theodora Bergeron Tancrede. She attended St. Dominic Regional High School and was employed for many years at Bourque’s Market and Geiger Bros.
On May 30, 1951, she married Rosario Paradis, who passed away on May 30, 1982.
She is survived by four sons, Roger and wife, Beverly, of Tucson, Ariz., Raymond and wife, Anne, of Arrowsic, Richard and wife, Donna, of Lewiston and Roland of Portland. Other survivors include three sisters, Rita and husband, Albert Landry, of Lewiston, Priscilla and husband, Gerard Roy, of Westminster, Colo., Stella D’amour of Lewiston and one sister-in-law, Delia Tancrede of Lewiston. She had seven grandchildren, Michael, Brett and Craig Paradis, Stacy Richard, Ashly, Richard and Scott Paradis; a great-granddaughter, Ava Anita Richard; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Carmen Poirier; and a brother, Robert Tancrede.
Anita was a devout member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish. Her faith was exemplified through her love and dedication to family. She enjoyed family gatherings, trips to the beach, Sunday drives and her many friends. Her strength will always be a guiding light. Anita will be missed by all she touched.
