WILMINGTON, N.C. – Steven Alan DeWitt, 55, died unexpectedly on Dec. 4.

He was born in Kittery, on Aug. 25, 1953. He was an accomplished blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. He had a passion for surfing, skateboarding and enjoying his family.

He worked as a detail finish carpenter most of his life and was a master of his craft. He was loved for his quirky humor and exceptional laugh. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Dorothy of Lewiston and Kenneth of New Jersey; sisters, Karen of Sabattus, Linda Hudson of Turner, Michele Bonefant of Monmouth, Diane Carney of Poland and Rosemarie of California; brothers, Alan of Wilmington, N.C., and Michael of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
