Men’s basketball

Central Maine CC 80, Vermont Tech 68

AUBURN – Matt Sceviour drained a team-high 17 points, hauled down eight rebounds and collected three steals to lead Central Maine Community College in a 80-68 Yankee Conference victory over Vermont Tech on Sunday.

Tyler Smithgall hit for 16 points to compliment his eight boards and Nate Damm was 4-for-4 from the field for 10 points. Matt Lyons scored eight and registered a game-high 13 rebounds while Cam Angell and Rod Tirell each hit for nine points.

The Mustangs (9-2) held the Green Knights to 35 percent shooting and outscored their bench 30-6.

Marquise King scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Green Knights while Trent Roleau and Sean Smith combined for 27.

Women’s basketball

Central Maine CC 81, Vermont Tech 34

AUBURN – Freshman forward Michelle Holmquist scrored a team-high 14 points as Central Maine Community College remained undefeated with an 81-34 rout over Vermont Tech on Sunday.

The Mustangs held a 15 point advantage at the break and wore out the Green Knights with solid defensive attack that surrendered just 12 second half points.

Danielle Hebert led a 43 point effort from the bench with a season-high 12 points while Janessa Thomas drained eight points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. Victoria Lovely has a breakout game at point guard, dishing out a game-high 10 assists. Kerri Harris also hit double figures for the Mustangs (8-0) with 10 points.

Eliza Wakefield paced the Green Knights (3-4) with 17 points and eight rebounds.
