RANGELEY – The coffers of the Rangeley Region Health and Wellness Partnership may get a shot in the arm soon.

The board of directors has learned the Maine Community Foundation has selected the partnership as a recipient of a 25/25 nonprofit endowment challenge.

Held to honor the 25th anniversary of the Maine Community Foundation and its commitment to rural Maine and endowment building, the challenge requires the partnership to raise $25,000 in new funds. Each dollar raised will be matched by the challenge grant, resulting in $50,000 that will be added to the endowment fund.

Wilbur said the goal of the partnership board is to reach a goal of 50-percent participation from the local community. Letters will be sent to the corporators to launch the campaign.

To qualify for a challenge grant from the Maine Community Foundation, an organization must be a nonprofit entity, possess less than a $250,000 endowment and have long-term sustainability.
