The discussion and childish fighting going on about where a certain county commissioner lives, and whether the sheriff works for the county commissioners or the commissioners work for the sheriff would be amusing in a time when most of the businesses in the county were doing well.
But many are struggling to not go out of business, and would truly appreciate it if the attorney general, politicians and other lawyers who are feeding at the public trough, would find something important to do – or get off the public dime (preferably the latter).
A recent editorial was about trying to streamline the governments of Lewiston and Auburn and cutting costs by cooperating and working together. I don’t know any county commissioners; never even voted for one. But it sounds to me like they try to keep the budget in line. So, whether they live in Lewiston or Auburn isn’t even a toll call, so get over it. They are a few hundred yards apart.
Most national, and some local politicians, are not held in high regard where I come from, and they are getting lower by the day.
While I’m on national politicians, the insane ethanol policy is doubling the price of everyone’s groceries and driving animal agriculture out of business.
Those politicians need to be told to stop making people put their dinners in the fuel tanks before all animal farming is a thing of the past.
