Sadly, the soccer season is ending here at Monmouth Middle School and it’s either over or soon ending everywhere else. It’s been very fun and exciting and I know I’m going to miss it during the rest of the school year.
In Monmouth, we have a lot of girls who try out for the soccer team, almost 50 people this year. Our coach tries to be fair by letting every girl play on either the eighth grade team or the seventh grade team. That way, everybody gets a chance to play and get the experience, too.
Our last game this year was on Thursday, October 23. Our team was great, we worked together and scored goals as a team. Our coach played our defenders up front and our forwards down defending the net. I am a forward, and I played goalie for the first time. Coach played us this way because it was our last game and it was something fun and something new.
In the end, our record was four wins, two losses, and five ties (4-2-5). We had a good time and the eighth graders gained a lot of experience for the high school season.
