This 2008 soccer season has been unforgettable. As a team, we won games, and as a team, we lost games. No matter what the outcome of the game, we left the field with pride as a team. Coach always tells us that if we gave 100%, we should leave the field with our heads up high and be happy, not caring how the score turned out. That is just what my team did this year at Tripp. We played our hearts out and gave all we had every step we took on the field.

Soccer is such an exciting sport here at Tripp Middle School. Practice is held everyday after school from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Practice is a lot of fun because you get to hang out with your friends and play a sport that everyone on the field enjoys. My coach always pushes my team to our extreme limits because he knows we can handle it and is willing to help us get ready for the high school soccer team. In my opinion, if you love a sport and want to play it, you should play and not let anyone tell you otherwise. At Tripp, there is no one to tell us we’re not good enough. Every coach is willing to help us increase our skills.

At soccer practice, we play pass, practice throw-ins, and shoot on our goalie. A soccer team needs some forwards, middies, defense and a goalie. A lot of coaches are different and almost every coach sets up his line up differently. Coach Bob gives everyone a chance and makes the lineups fair by letting other players play a different position once in awhile. I love soccer and as a forward I play with pride, and do my best to try and score or get an assist to one of my teammates.

I love playing soccer at Tripp because everyone is equal. No one is afraid to speak their minds. Tripp soccer is played with pride and everyone tries their hardest to do their personal best while on the field. Soccer is a team sport. To be a successful team, you need to be able to work well with your teammates.

Some people say soccer is a noncompetitive sport, but they’re wrong. I’ve seen players break their legs, shatter their knee caps and receive severe concussions from playing soccer. Soccer is a dangerous sport, which makes it just that more fun to play.
