LEWISTON – A surprise 50th wedding anniversary gathering was held recently for Bernie and Shirley Carrier of Lewiston at the Knights of Columbus hall in Lewiston. The couple was married Aug. 9, 1958, at Saints Peter and Paul Church.
The anniversary celebration was hosted by their children and spouses, Donna and Jim Katsiaficas, Michelle and David Carrier and Susan and Steve Dobieski. Their son, David Carrier, was master of ceremonies, and the Rev. Dan Greenleaf of Holy Family Parish officiated at the renewal of their wedding vows.
Mr. Carrier is retired from Sears and Mrs. Carrier is retired from J.C. Penney. Both have remained active in various local organizations.
They have six grandchildren, Caitlin, Nathan and Jacob Katsiaficas, Lucas Carrier and Seth and Aaron Dobieski.
Out of town guests attended from Florida, North Carolina, Minnesota and Rhode Island.
