MEXICO – The following incidents were handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.

Accident

• Vehicles driven by Virginia G. DeRocco, 61, Mexico, and Joan M. Day, 42, Mexico, collided at 10 a.m. Dec. 23 at Main Street and Roxbury Road. DeRocco’s 2000 Saturn station wagon sustained $1,500 damage. Day’s 1999 Chevrolet two-door sustained $2,500 damage.

Theft

• Someone stole a Mexico Highway Department sign designating a snow removal area between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 23 on Main Street near the Rumford-Mexico bridge. The sign is valued at $300.

Attempted burglary

• An attempted burglary of Casey’s Gun Shop on Roxbury Road was reported at 12:48 p.m. Dec. 22. The attempted break-in is believed to have occurred between Dec. 10-22. A wooden panel was broken but no entrance was gained.
