BANGOR (AP) – A 16-year-old boy is being held at a youth detention center following his arrest in connection with a car theft spree in Bangor.

Bangor police said the youth was arrested Tuesday on a shoplifting charge at a Bangor supermarket.

After questioning, he was charged in connection with the theft of five cars on Dec. 17 and 18. All five vehicles have been recovered.

He is now being held at the Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston.

Police say the teen, who was not named because of his age, faces multiple counts including charges of felony burglary, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary to a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, theft and receiving stolen property.
