BETHEL – Sponsors for the 11th annual New Year’s Bethel are still begin sought at the Patron ($200 or more), Friend ($100 to $199) or Contributor ($5 to $99) level.
Sponsors will be listed at each venue. More than $1,600 in sponsorships has been raised to date.
Those wishing to become a sponsor at any level should send a tax deductible donation to the Bethel Historical Society, P.O. Box 12, Bethel, ME 04217-0012.
This year’s event, a chemical-free festival featuring live entertainment for all ages, will begin with a community potluck supper at 5 p.m., a children’s dragon parade at 6 p.m., marshmallow roasting on the town common throughout the evening, Judy Lee’s family show, the State Street Jazz band, contra dance with Ti’Acadie, Senior Players, community sing-along with Lynn Arizzi at the piano and community bell ringing at midnight.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Citizen office, the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce, Maine Line Products Locke Mills store and the Bethel Historical Society’s museum shop: $10 adult and $8 students 6 to 18; and at the door, $12 adult and $10 students. Those age 5 or under are free.
