ALBANY, N.H. – Tin Mountain Conservation Center will hold an eco-forum from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, with speaker Dan Morrissey, co-founder and principal of McDonald Morrissey Associates Inc.

Morrisey’s talk, “Groundwater Resources of the Saco River Valley,” will discuss the extensive sand and gravel aquifer located along the Saco River from Bartlett, N.H., to Fryeburg.

Morrissey will describe a cooperative study funded by the Maine Geological Survey, New Hampshire Water Supply and Pollution Control Board, the New Hampshire Water Resources Board, the town of Conway and the U.S. Geological Survey that was done to provide a comprehensive evaluation of ground water resources.

Morrissey has been a ground-water hydrologist for 31 years, including 12 years spent with the U.S. Geological Survey Water Resources Division.

Tin Mountain Conservation Center offers the Eco-Forum Lunchtime Speaker Series talks every month. The series is free, open to the public and held in the Coleman Great Room at Tin Mountain’s Nature Learning Center.
