THOMASTON – Thomas Knight scored the 1,000th point of his career during an 18-point night to lead unbeaten Dirigo to a 68-25 triumph over Georges Valley in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday night.

After scoring 13 points in the first half, Knight reached the milestone on his first field goal in the third quarter. The Notre-Dame-bound senior also had nine rebounds, four steals, three asists and two blocks.

Teammate Tyler Chiasson scored a game-high 20 points and added five rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Cougars (8-0). Nic Crutchfield added six rebounds.

Georges Valley only had two players who scored as many as two field goals. Chaney Oakes led the Bucs with five points.

Rockland 64, Oak Hill 29

WALES – Junior Chris Nolan scored 14 points to lead Rockland to a 64-29 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday.

Nolan collected 10 of his 14 points in the first half as the Tigers (6-2) led 29-10 at the break.

Senior guard Ben Rines paced the Raiders (0-8) with seven points in the losing effort.

Livermore Falls 56, Monmouth 31

LIVERMORE FALLS – Junior center Derek Castonguay drained 14 points and hauled down eight rebounds to lead Livermore Falls to a 56-31 victory over Monmouth in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Andies (3-5) jumped out to a 24-6 halftime lead. Khyle Whittemore chipped in with five field goals and a free throw for 12 points.

Senior forward Peter Ferland posted a game-high 17 points for the Mustangs (0-7).

Lewiston 63, Leavitt 40

LEWISTON – Senior center Omar Mohamud blazed a trail for the Blue Devils with 21 points and five blocks as Lewiston marched to a 63-40 victory over Leavitt in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Hornets (1-7) kept pace through three quarters and trailed by 34-33 with seven minutes remaining in regulation. But, the Blue Devils (2-6) finished with a 29-7 run.

Junior forward Andy Pulk recorded 10 points for Lewiston.

Freshman forward Jordan Hersom led the Hornets with 17 points, while Doug Nash tallied 10 points in the losing effort.

Buckfield 60, Valley 54

BUCKFIELD – Buckfield erupted with a 36 points in the first half, and Kyle Rines rang up 19 points and Bryan Litchfield added another 17, as the Bucks (1-4) picked off Valley, 60-54, in a boys’ basketball game Friday night.

The Bucks built a 36-20 lead by halftime.

Valley’s Cameron Miller also put on quite a show, dumping in the game-high 31 points and making good on four 3-pointers. Chris Beane had added another 10 points for the Cavaliers (2-4).

Oxford Hills 64, Cony 58

AUGUSTA – Cody Hadley scored eight points in the final minutes of regulation to lead Oxford Hills in a 64-58 KVAC victory over Cony on Friday.

The Vikings, down 32-23 at the break, went on a 15-2 run to open the third quarter. Trailing by one with two minutes remaining, Hadley hit a 3-pointer and was five-for-six from the line to seal the win for the Vikings (4-4). The junior guard finished with 15 points and six assists.

Matt Verrier drained 16 points, including three from behind the arc, and Jordan Farrar added 15.

Brian Carville paced the Rams (4-4) with 16 points and Walker Cooper registered 11.

Girls’ basketball

Vinalhaven 38, Rangeley 37

RANGELEY – Tied at 37 with nine seconds remaining, Vinalhaven’s Jenn Guptill drained a foul shot to give the Vikings a 38-37 EWC victory over Rangeley on Friday.

Chantal Carrier registered a double-double for the Lakers (4-2) with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Emily Carrier poured in eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter that tied the game in the final frame.

Brooke Conway and Clelsey Moyer paced the Vikings with 13 points apiece.

Lisbon 39, Mt. Abram 35

LISBON – Renee Moore scored 11 points and Lisbon produced 12 key points in the third quarter as the Greyhounds (5-2) shook off Mt. Abram with a 39-35 victory Friday night.

Lisbon held the Roadrunners (4-3) to just 11 points in the first and second quarters.

For Mt. Abram, Kenni Norton lit up the nets with 15 points.

Oak Hill 58, Rockland 52

ROCKLAND – Oak Hill bounced back in the second quarter to grab the lead and then maintained it the rest of the way for a 58-52 victory over Rockland.

The Tigers (3-5) grabbed a 16-9 lead after the first quarter, but Oak Hill fought back with a strong defensive effort to take a 25-22 lead at the half.

Maggie Sabine led the way for the Raiders (5-3) with 28 points and Alex Donald added 15 points, including eight from the foul line.

Ballie Boggs scored 26 points to lead Rockland.

Oxford Hills 56, Cony 39

SOUTH PARIS – Lauren Brett tossed a game-high 14 points to lead Oxford Hills to a 56-39 victory over Cony in girls’ basketball action.

The wind shifted in the Vikings’ favor in the third quarter as they went on a 19-1 run and took a 17-point advantage into the final frame. Megan Joyce contributed five field goals and a pair from the charity stripe for 12 points for Oxford Hills.

MaKenzie Dufour led the Rams with 10 points in the losing effort.

Yarmouth 40, St. Dom’s 38, OT

AUBURN – Michelle Moylan converted three foul shots in the final minute of overtime as Yarmouth escaped with a 40-38 WMC victory over St. Dom’s.

Sophomore forward Allaina Murphy registered a double-double, tallying a game-high 18 points and 10 boards for the Saints (2-4). Sarah Gosselin also hit double figures for the Saints with 10 points.

Katherine Kahill paced the Clippers (3-5) with 14 points.

, and Moylan finished with nine.
