WALES – Oak Hill used a 20-11 run in the fourth quarter to pull off a come-from-behind, 49-46 upset victory over Medomak Valley in a KVAC boys’ basketball tilt Tuesday evening.
Medomak Valley jumped out to a 17-5 advantage in the first frame before Oak Hill picked up the pace. Shawn Greenier led the Raiders (1-8) to their first win with 22 points, while Ben Foss tallied nine and Ben Rines added seven.
Dale Winchenbach led the Panthers (6-3) with 12 points. Alex Goldrup added 11.
Camden Hills 68, Maranacook 40
READFIELD – Tyler McFarland scored eight of his 20 points in the first quarter Tuesday night, staking undefeated Camden Hills to a double-digit lead and setting the stage for a 68-40 KVAC victory over reigning Class B champion Maranacook.
Graham Safford led the Windjammers (9-0) with 21 points. Keegan Pieri, Kiefer Lammi and Gordon Fischer combined for 22 more. Camden Hills jumped out to a 19-5 lead and upped it to 33-16 at the half.
Ben Johnson picked up eight of his team-high 21 points in the second period to give the Black Bears (5-3) a boost.
St. Dom’s 52, Sacopee Valley 32
AUBURN – Peter Keaney drained a game-high 20 points Tuesday to lead St. Dom’s to a 52-32 rout over Sacopee Valley in a WMC matchup.
The Saints (4-4) stepped out to a 11-3 advantage in the first quarter and were never challenged. Aaron Allen chipped in with 12 points. He was the only other Saint in double figures.
Blais Whitney topped the Hawks (1-7) with 19 points.
Edward Little 75, Leavitt 57
TURNER – Corey Therriault broke free with 32 points to lift Edward Little to a 75-57 KVAV victory over Leavitt.
Therriault helped the Red Eddies (7-2) take control by scoring 16 points in the pivotal second quarter, which saw EL extend its lead from 12-8 to 37-18.
The Hornets (1-8) fought back in the third period and cut the deficit to six, but Therriault knocked down 10 more points in the final frame to help EL pull away.
James Philbrook chipped in 16 points for EL. Jordan Hersom led Leavitt’s balanced attack with 14 points. Cam Griffin added 12 points, Noah Poto had 11 and Doug Nash nine.
Oxford Hills 58, Lewiston 52
SOUTH PARIS – Junior forward Jake Hall tallied 13 points and six rebounds to lead a balanced attack as Oxford Hills surged in the final minutes to take a 58-52 KVAC boys’ victory over Lewiston.
With the score tied at 50 and two minutes to go in regulation, the Vikings (5-4) scored eight straight to seal the victory. Junior guard Cody Hadley notched 3-of-4 from the foul line during the surge.
Junior guard Ronnie Turner recorded a game-high 23 points for the Blue Devils (2-7), including a pair of 3-pointers. Senior forward Andy Pulk chipped in 12 points.
Gray-NG 58, Poland 40
GRAY – Cody Humphrey scored 18 points and Taylor Valente added 16 to power Gray-New Gloucester past Poland, 58-40, in WMC boys’ basketball Tuesday.
The Patriots (5-4) led from wire-to-wire, building cushions of 17-6, 26-19 and 38-28 at the quarter breaks.
Adam Jensen contributed 12 points for Gray-NG. Jonah Farrington led Poland (2-7) with 10 points. Kevin Payette and Mike Littlefield added nine points apiece.
Mt. Ararat 53, Morse 47
BATH – Mt. Ararat stunned Morse by scoring the first 16 points of the game and marched on to a 53-47 KVAC boys’ basketball victory.
Cam Vermette scored 19 points and Tyler Toothaker 10 for the Eagles (5-4), who led 30-12 at the half. Ryan Chaney led Morse (7-2) with 20 points. Alex Kee added 16.
