RUMFORD – Margaret Jean Simmons White, 88, of East Andover died Friday, Jan. 9, at Rumford Hospital.

She was born in Portland on June 17, 1920, a daughter of William and Jessie (Enman) Simmons Sr. She attended schools in Michigan and Maine.

Margaret was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Andover.

She was married March 28, 1936, to the late Lester O. White, who died in Rumford on Sept. 2, 2005.

Survivors include sons, David White and wife, Betsey, of Andover and Daniel White of Winthrop; daughters, Norma Farrington and husband, Freeman, of East Andover, Donna Hall and husband, Steve, of Conyers, Ga., Wanita Offhaus and husband, Greg, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Marilyn Morton and husband, Wayne, of East Andover; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
