OES to meet

MECHANIC FALLS – Dwinal Chapter 28, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Masonic Hall. A potluck supper will be served preceding the meeting at 6:30.

The worthy matron has prepared a special program for the new year. All members are invited.

Kiwanis speakers

LEWISTON – Cheryl Hamilton, assistant director, and Cara Gaumont, outreach specialist from the Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence, will address the Auburn Lewiston Kiwanis Club on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Ramada Inn.

Both are Lewiston-Auburn natives and will discuss programs the center offers in the area. It is a nonprofit organization that develops and implements training and educational programs to prevent bias, harassment and violence and is based in Portland.

The meeting will begin at 12:05 p.m. and guests are welcome.

OES meeting

LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall, Route 196. Members will honor the stations of conductress and associate conductress.

Grand Conductress Judy Wilkie and Associate Grand Conductress Stephanie Dupal will be present. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. All members of the order are invited.

Seniors lunch

AUBURN – First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Hasty Community Center at Pettengill Park. A bag lunch will be held and bingo will follow. There will be no raffle table.

The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. and the members will meet at 11.

Due to the storm cancellation on Jan. 7, the spaghetti luncheon planned for Jan. 21 has been postponed until June 17.

Distribution day

AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve, part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will hold Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, 263 Turner St., at the Whitney Street entrance.
