BELFAST (AP) – A Clinton man who pleaded guilty to raping a 65-year-old woman at her home in Liberty is being held held without bail while he awaits sentencing.
Larry Bruce Paul, who’s 42, pleaded guilty Friday in Waldo County Superior Court to gross sexual assault, assault and aggravated criminal trespass.
Defense and prosecution lawyers agreed on a 20-year sentence, with all but 10 years suspended.
Police records show that Paul and some friends were at the victim’s house in November 2007.
The visitors eventually left the home, but Paul returned later that night, kicked in the basement door and attacked the woman.
