PORTLAND (AP) – Portland police say a customer angry over a convenience store clerk’s refusal to sell alcohol returned and set a fire.
Officers say the man became belligerent before leaving the Big Apple store Sunday night, then returned a half-hour later with a gas can. Police say he poured fluid outside the building and in the entryway inside the store before setting it afire.
Police say there was minimal damage and the man fled on foot. He was described as a white, short, in his mid 30 or 40s, and wearing jeans and a green jacket.
