AUBURN – The Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services Department will offer the “Essentials of Human Resources Management” certificate program from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 4. Cost is $495 and includes participant materials.

It is an introductory course offering an overview of human resources roles and responsibilities. It will give participants knowledge to help reduce potentially costly lawsuits and improve their ability to handle challenging human resource issues. It will explore the six functional areas of the human resource function using materials from the Society for Human Resource Management.

The workshop will be taught by Beverly MacCallum, SPHR. MacCallum is a human resources officer for Androscoggin Bank in Lewiston and holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Bentley College. She has earned her senior professional of human resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
