Rotary announces students of month

PARIS – Students of the Month for January at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School are Christopher Williams, freshman; Christine Farr, sophomore; Riley Eusden, junior; and Dario Wernitz, senior. This year is the ninth year of the Rotary Club’s sponsorship.

Each month, high school staff members nominate students who they feel have “made a difference in their classroom.” The goal of the program is to reward teamwork, positive behavior, extra effort and good student citizenship.

The program is coordinated through Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange Director Maureen Howard and is part of the character education curriculum at the high school.

The four students were praised for their dedicated involvement in class activities, volunteer time assisting with elementary orchestra and positive effect on classmates.

The students’ names and picture were placed on a plaque that hangs in the hallway across from the school library. They had lunch with the principal, and on Jan. 14 they were honored at a Rotary breakfast.
