Church barbecue
SUMNER – The Congregational Church of East Sumner, UCC, will have a “Barbecue in February” at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7. It is the monthly First Saturday Supper. Donations will benefit Pilgrim Lodge scholarships for the church youth.
Free workshops
PARIS – The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host free workshops, “Essentials of College Planning,” at the following times and locations:
Rumford Career Center, 35 Congress St., on Monday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m.
South Paris Career Center, 232 Main St., on Mondays, Feb. 9 and 23, at 10 a.m.

Benefit concert
NORWAY – Norway Church of the Nazarene, 10 Grove St., will have a benefit concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, to raise money for the food pantry operating out of the church.
Three musicians and a group will donate their time. The concert is free, but there will be a love offering, with proceeds to support the food pantry, which purchases food from the Good Shepherd Food-Bank in Auburn.
The food pantry is open from 9 a.m. to noon the first Wednesday of the month or a time can be arranged with Pastor Shawn Emerson at 743-6960.
