When it came time for high school, I knew that St. Dom’s was the place for me. I attended a Catholic elementary school, and it seemed only natural to continue my education at St. Dom’s. I never considered going anywhere else, and as I look back, I have no regrets. After going to a small elementary school, St. Dom’s was so big and exciting! There is so much to do from sports to clubs to friends to spirit days.

The best part about St. Dom’s is its community. The students and teachers know everyone by name. Everyone looks out for each other not only in the classroom but also outside of school. I found this especially remarkable as a freshman. The upperclassmen make sure the underclassmen are doing okay and the teachers are always available to help.

One of my biggest concerns was making friends. This was actually one of the easiest parts about coming to St. Dom’s. I connected with other nervous and excited freshman. I also made amazing friends who were older and younger than me, especially my basketball and softball teammates.

I have grown a lot at St. Dom’s in and out of the classroom. It is a college preparatory school. Yes, classes are challenging, but they are manageable with the support of teachers and classmates. I have learned so much, especially in a few Advanced Placement classes. I have also learned about myself: my strengths and weaknesses, my interests, and what I want for my future. I know that I am prepared to take on college. I am proud to be a Saint!
