LEWISTON – Davis J. Prudhomme, 83, formerly of 24 Bushey Circle, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion. He had previously lived at Schooner Estates in Auburn.

He was born in Chataignier, La., on Nov. 1, 1925, the son of the late Reme and Necie Fontenot Prudhomme. He was educated in Louisiana schools and made his career serving his country in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He was married to Emma “Nancy” Dube on April 18, 1953. She predeceased him on Oct. 14, 2003.

After his career in the U.S. Navy he was employed at Pioneer Plastics in Auburn for eight years.

He enjoyed gardening, listening to country music and his trips to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his caregiver and brother-in-law, Gerry Dube and his wife, Jackie, of Sabattus, and caregiver and niece, Sue Ruel and her husband, Paul, of Wales; a cousin, Luanne and her husband, Cal Courville, of Louisiana, and other nieces, nephews and cousins.

His family thanks the staff at d’Youville Pavilion, especially Bob and Patty for their exceptional care.
