NORWAY – Stone-Smart Post, American Legion, Auxiliary 82 met on Jan. 14, with President Thelma Denlinger presiding. The charter was draped in memory of Doris Hunt, with Denlinger, Chaplain Christine Weiss and Rose Moulton draping the charter. Beulah Ayer reported that she had delivered several plants to members in nursing homes or ill at home.
Joyce Clifford reported that the Christmas basket raffle raised $381 for Beal House at Togus. The winner was Chris Denlinger. The Denlinger family wanted the basket to go to someone in need. Through the Norway Town Office. someone was found and baskets were delivered before Christmas. Members voted to present the annual awards at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in June. The Myra Stevens Award will go to a senior girl who has also attend Girls State. A Stone-Smart Unit 82 award and the Stone-Smart Unit 82 Marion Millett Award will be given. Supper preceded the meeting, with Rose Moulton filling in for Barbara Henley, who was ill. Beulah Ayer assisted.
Chili, sandwiches and homemade desserts were served.
