Everyday, at Tripp Middle School, kids come equipped with pencils, paper, binders and hopefully their homework. But they also come with something you can’t see. They are the daily learning tools necessary to be taught. One of the needed abilities is understanding what’s being asked. Understanding what’s being asked is knowing what’s going on in the classroom. You have to be able to ask questions when you don’t understand something. You also have to listen and pay attention. It aids learning because when you don’t understand something then you won’t know what’s being said. You won’t learn any new information if you’re not listening.
The next skill is observing. Observing is looking at things closely and paying attention. You have to listen closely and take notes. When you are pay attention then you will do well and get good grades on tests. You will also learn a lot so you don’t have to study a lot for tests if you remember things.
Using available resources is another important capability. You have to use the materials you are given and the guidelines so you will do everything right. It helps you learn because your resources will probably help you do something correctly.
The last skill is following directions. You have to do what’s asked and follow instructions. It helps you learn because if you do things right then you will get better grades because you’re supposed follow what’s being asked. All of these rules make you able to learn better and make your own conclusions about things. Every child should be able to use these skills in school. We should spread the idea that these tools help kids learn in all schools.
